Investment of 25 million euros to increase production capacity, strengthen sales network, technological innovation and product development.
San Marino, March 21, 2023. The Colombini Group, leader in Italy in the furniture sector with its Febal Casa, Colombini Casa, Colombini Group Contract, Offic’è, Rossana, Bontempi Casa and Ingenia brands, closed 2022 with very positive results.
Turnover reached 300 million euros, up 11 percent from 270 million euros in 2021 despite the current economic environment and a market dynamic characterized, especially in the second half of the year, by higher energy costs, rising raw material prices, and major delays in the supply chain.
The 2022 results confirm the validity of the strategic path taken and enable the Group to continue ambitiously toward the goals outlined by the Board of Directors.
“Our development path continues as we had planned,” comments Emanuel Colombini, President of Colombini Group, “Thanks to the industrial and financial solidity that characterizes us, we can face 2023 with serenity by seizing the opportunities offered by the market. Our strategy includes the development of integration between Design and Technology, to provide increasingly strong design tools to our sales network, a path of growth both organic and by aggregations of furniture and design companies with which to achieve important synergies. We want to become a true family-owned hub in the furniture sector, the only one in Italy, both in terms of size and breadth of offer, creating excellence in our territory.“
“2022 has been a year of great satisfaction and goals achieved thanks to strategic choices that have put innovation, dialogue with the sales network and attention to consumers at the forefront,” comments Giovanni Battista Vacchi, CEO of Colombini Group. “We have room to grow further with all our brands in Italy and abroad, where we are investing to gain new market shares. We have great stimuli that push us to do better and better in a particularly competitive global context where, in order to succeed in anticipating market trends, it is essential to continuously plan investments in product development, technological innovation, tools to support the sales network and great attention to customers, with an increasingly sustainability-oriented approach.”
In 2022, the Colombini Group has invested about 25 million euros to expand and improve the production capacity of its companies and product development activities also thanks to a complex Artificial Intelligence system. AI, introduced in the last two years to make an already highly automated production increasingly efficient, has been extended to other company areas with the aim of reducing the time to market of products with an increasingly sustainability-oriented approach. Investments were also made in the development of the distribution network and the further strengthening of drive-to-store omnichannel activities. Strong advertising coverage also on print, TV and digital channels at the national level, support for dealers at the local level with dedicated investments and initiatives, through the use of Salesforce, the world leader in CRM solutions, which enables optimized dealer and end-consumer management in sales and marketing.
During the year, the Group’s network training plan continued at full speed through the Colombini Academy, the in-house school dedicated to the creation of paths of excellence for the training and updating of personnel and business partners, which in 2022 carried out around 7,000 hours of online, in-person and top partner meeting training involving around 400 Italian and international partners.
Specifically, with reference to the Group’s individual brands, Febal Casa opened 40 new stores in 2022, reaching 170 single-brand stores in Italy and abroad. The goal is to reach 300 stores by the end of 2025.
Colombini Group Contract, the structure specializing in the design and implementation of turnkey solutions in the residential, hôtellerie and office sectors, has launched important projects, including the partnership signed with AbitareIn for the creation of furniture for about 500 apartments in Milan and the supply of more than 500 kitchens in China, in Canton, Beijing and Shanghai, to which another 1,100 kitchens will be added in 2023.
Colombini Casa has implemented its development strategy with 60 new private labels and 70 gallery projects, reaching 4,500 retailers in Italy.
Bontempi Casa, present in 800 stores in Italy and 400 abroad, in 2022 launched the “Bontempi Space” project, concerning the opening of spaces dedicated to the display of its products inside major multi-brand stores. Already 12 Bontempi Spaces are active, which will grow to 50 by 2023. Finally, on the occasion of the 61st edition of the Salone del Mobile.Milano, Bontempi Casa will inaugurate its first flagship store in Milan at Via F. Turati n.6.
